Fertile Underground was conceived by a group of artists conversing about ways to directly address the issues of food access, personal health in modern life, creative process, and connection to nature.
The grocery has been filled out and we have Rhody Fresh milk, local eggs, yogurt and cheese from Narragansett Creamery, There's oil, crushed tomatoes, pastas, it's nice.
We continue to have a nice stock of roots from Schartner's Farm, and we got local organic cranberries bagged up from Fairland Farm. And what more, Aquaponic lettuce and fresh shiitake mushrooms from the New Urban Farmers in Pawtucket.
We've got bulk nuts from Virgina & Spanish Peanut Company on Dexter Street. Oats & grains from Bob's Red Mill. Bulk herbs, packaged tea and more from Farmacy Herbs. Also, four kind coffee beans ground up for you on the spot, from Equal Exchange.
Cafe has been shifting- we have an entirely new menu, travel HERE to see that!

We are looking for help in the store, for now as a Volunteer.
You can help this store grow by investing in food for the shelves. "Community Supported Grocery"
Fertile Underground also organize Gardens around Providence, as well as sharing that connectivity with the wider Urban Farming community. This year, we are helping to make connections between folks who want to get involved, and those folks who are coordinating Activities on a regular basis, such as Fertile Underground, New Urban Farmers, Front Step Farm, and the Little City Grower's Co-op.
